Next up in our #3TTT Series we have one of my all time favorite brands, Pat McGrath Labs. This brand was started by none other than Pat McGrath who is a world renowned MUA. Pat McGrath Labs is luxe and costs $$$; so, since I carry a heavy amount of her product in my Pro MUA Kit I thought it’d be worth discussing my Top 3 things.

Pat McGrath Labs

#1 MOTHERSHIP EYE PALETTES: The eye palettes and color stories are unparalleled. First of all, the packaging is heavy duty and high quality. Every time I bring these out for a client they immediately ogle over them. They go on seamlessly and blend with little to no effort. They feel creamy to the touch, and the colors are rich and unique. The deep gemstone blue and the velvety emerald shade are absolutely unparalleled in my kit and I have yet to find a dupe for many of the colors. These are the shadows I reach for when I need the look to be slightly elevated and a bit more glamorous. My four favorite color stories are the Mothership VII: Divine Rose (a pink/mauve color story), Mothership V: Bronze Seduction (a warm brown with red color story), Mothership II: Sublime (a golden brown with emerald green color story), and the Mothership I: Subliminal (a cool taupe with vibrant blue color story).

#2 SKIN FETISH DEVINE BLUSHES: For me, the powder blushes are exceptional. They are a cream

satin finish with a beautiful sheen to them but have no detectable glitter or pearl in

them. The color range is also inclusive and exquisite. The deeper and brighter shades show up on deep skin tone with no ashy appearance. And the paler shades blend onto light skin beautifully. Some of my favorite shades are Divine Rose (Cool Mauve Rose), Nude Venus (Peachy Pink w/ Golden Pearl), Lovestruck (Berry Pink) and Paradise Venus (Terracotta).

#3 SKIN FETISH HIGHLIGHTER + BALM DUO: This is one of the products I have in my kit that I also have in my handbag. One end has a creamy highlighter with pearlescent sheen and the other end has a clear balm. My favorite way to use these is to add the clear balm onto the highpoints of the face during day time looks and then add the pearlescent side for evening looks when the lighting will be softer. This is a great multi-use tool to throw in your set bag as well. My favorite shades are Nude, for light to medium skin, and Bronze, for medium to deeper skin.

Pro Tips

When in doubt, use your hands! If you are struggling to apply more metallic and glittery eye shadows, try using your finger to pat them into the eye. I have found that this is the best application to get the color pay off you want with little to no fall out. Then, blend around the edges with a brush.
